PART I:  PROJECT WITH SMALL BUSINESS OR NON-PROFIT IN THE COMMUNITY
Name of your project: Waimea High School Pickleball Tournament Name(s) of your partner(s):
Briefly describe your project (one paragraph).

Waimea High School created and held a PickleBall Tournament that was open to the Senior Citizen community of Kauai (60 yrs. +). We advertised and held registrations for the event, in which we had a good turnout. Participants paid a fee for the event which was donated to Nana’s House, our community partner of whom the students wanted to help because of family services that they provide to the Waimea Community. With our community project, we tried to involve many pathways and academies within Waimea High School. Our culinary program provided each participant with a bento lunch, our graphics program created the event logo and tournament brackets, we partnered with our health academy and held our event concurrently with their annual WHS health fair to add a healthy/fit activity to their event, and so on.

List down at least three successes (what worked well).
  1. Students and Tournament participants worked well together.
  2. Students took “charge” of the event after the necessary location change.
