VISION
Kapaa High School graduates are responsible, collaborative, critical thinkers who positively contribute to the global community.

MISSION
Kapaa High School prepares all students for college, career, and citizenship in the 21st century.

Kapaʻa High School is located in the rural town of Kapaʻa on the windward side of the island of Kauaʻi.  Established in 1938, it has a current student enrollment of 1,000 and serves a socio-economically diverse community from Wailua to Haena.

Kapa`a Campus The Kapaʻa Way is our foundation of educational practice based on the core principles of positive relationships, academic rigor, and real world relevance.  We are a career academy high school where students have opportunities to explore college and career pathways based on their interest and aptitude.  We envision all students being prepared with the academic, professional, and technical skills needed to succeed.  We seek to offer academy pathway programs of study that will lead to high wage, high demand, and high skill careers for our students.

Students entering Kapaʻa start in the freshmen academy hui where they receive focused support in their transition to high school.  A comprehensive freshman transition course provides opportunities for service learning, career exploration, character, and academic skill development.  Kapaʻa High School is organized in five career academies (Creative Media, Health Professions, Industrial Engineering Technology, Natural Resources, and Public & Professional Services) from grades 10-12.  A data driven student support model is used to inform instructional practice and design effective interventions for all learners.

Kapaʻa High School has strong educational, business, and community partnerships which support and enhance its school wide goals, programs, and services. They include Gather Federal Credit Union, Hawaiʻi Pacific Health, Kamehameha Schools, Mālama Huleia, PBS Hawaii, Waipā Foundation, and others.   We collaborate with the Kauaʻi Economic Development Board to develop and implement work-based learning experiences with industry credential and certification opportunities.  Post secondary partners Chaminade University, Kauaʻi Community College, and the University of Hawaiʻi Community College System support our robust early college program that expands significant opportunities for all students to be college and career ready.
