Summary of Progress

‘Aiea High School fosters academic excellence through authentic learning experiences. Beginning in the 9th grade, students embark on their College & Career journey by selecting a program of study in either the Academy of Aspiring Professionals or the Academy of Innovation. This approach equips students with the necessary skills for post-secondary options. 

To address achievement gaps, teachers collaborate using Data-Driven Instructional Cycles. Course-alike teachers choose and implement instructional strategies tailored to meet students' learning needs, measure their effectiveness, and determine subsequent steps to ensure all students achieve content proficiency. Grade-level teams of teachers and counselors are the cornerstone of our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. 

The ‘Aiea Complex enhances student engagement and deepens curriculum understanding through Project-Based Learning. Interdisciplinary projects, aligned with academy themes, allow students to apply content knowledge to realworld problems, thus improving proficiency in English, math, and science. Student projects were showcased at the Health Sciences Symposium and the STEM Capstone Showcase.

commitment to the state’s goal of developing citizens who are both globally competitive and locally committed.
