Honoka’a High and Intermediate School (HHIS) is located in the heart of Historic Honoka’a town on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii island. Founded in 1889 as a K-12 school, it continues to educate students from the communities of Waimea, Paauilo, and beyond.
HHIS opened the 2023-2024 school year in year two of the Academy Model. There are three academies; the Academy of Public Service, offering Culinary, Natural Resources, and Emergency Medical Fire pathways, the Academy of Industry, offering Business, Digital Media, and Automotive, and the Academy of Discovery, offering middle school students opportunities to explore the six pathways.
